  • Remote Flexibility & lifestyle — Smart Working with up to 40% from home, and after 12 months, the option to work from abroad for up to 90 days a year. — job description

The job, in the employer's words

The Senior Designer is responsible for creating distinctive, beautifully crafted work across a wide range of customer touchpoints, helping brands show up consistently and effectively wherever their customers encounter them.

This is a hands-on senior design role, combining strong conceptual thinking with excellent creative craft. You’ll take briefs from initial idea through to final execution, creating work across campaigns, social, digital, CRM, content, print and physical environments.

You’ll understand how to take a core creative idea or established brand identity and translate it intelligently across different formats and channels, adapting the work to suit the medium without losing what makes the idea or brand distinctive.

Working closely with Creative Directors, copywriters, strategists, social and production teams, you’ll play an important role in raising the creative standard of the work. You’ll be confident taking ownership of briefs, presenting your thinking and responding constructively to creative direction.

Experience working with well-known B2C retail or consumer brands is important, alongside a strong understanding of contemporary design, social and culture.

What you'll be doing...

- Design & Creative

  • Develop strong creative concepts and design solutions from initial brief through to final execution.
  • Create beautifully crafted work with a sophisticated understanding of typography, composition, imagery, colour and visual storytelling.
  • Work confidently within established brand identities while identifying opportunities to evolve and strengthen their visual expression.
  • Translate creative concepts into compelling design across campaign, social, digital, CRM, content, print and physical/retail environments.

- Social & Digital

  • Bring a strong understanding of social and digital design, including how creative needs to behave across different platforms, formats and customer touchpoints.
  • Design work specifically for social environments rather than simply resizing or adapting campaign assets.
  • Understand the principles of social-first content, including the importance of pace, format, visual storytelling and platform behaviours.

- Collaboration

  • Take ownership of briefs and manage your work confidently from concept through to delivery.
  • Present and articulate creative thinking clearly, both verbally and through well-crafted presentations.
  • Work collaboratively with designers, copywriters, Creative Directors, strategists, social teams, producers and other specialists.
  • Take creative direction positively and use feedback to make the work stronger.

Requirements

  • Significant experience as a designer within an agency, in-house creative team or similarly fast-moving creative environment.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent design craft and conceptual thinking.
  • Proven experience working with recognised B2C retail or consumer brands.
  • Experience designing across multiple channels, including social, digital, CRM, campaigns, print and physical or retail environments.
  • Strong social experience, with evidence in your portfolio that you understand social as a creative channel, not simply another format for campaign adaptation.
  • Excellent typography, layout, image-making and visual communication skills.
  • Strong Adobe Creative Cloud skills, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • An understanding of motion and moving-image design, and the ability to work effectively with motion specialists.
  • The ability to take a brief, interrogate it, develop ideas and take the chosen direction through to a highly polished execution.
  • Confidence working independently while also thriving as part of a wider creative team.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain the thinking behind your work.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain creative standards across multiple briefs and deliverables.
  • A genuine interest in brands, retail, design, social and contemporary culture.
