  • Mentor cybersecurity projects and capstones from scoping and threat analysis through implementation, testing, documentation, and employer-ready demonstrations.
  • Serve as a cybersecurity subject-matter expert by informing curriculum, labs, assessments, and certification alignment while staying current on emerging threats, technologies, and industry practices.
  • Collaborate with instructional staff to continuously improve labs, rubrics, learner outcomes, and classroom practices while maintaining an inclusive, high-expectation learning environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach ethical hacking and penetration-testing concepts, including reconnaissance, scanning, vulnerability identification, exploitation, web application security, and defensive techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach endpoint security, including endpoint protection, hardening, monitoring, detection, response, and remediation.
  • Experience working with cybersecurity tools, platforms, and lab environments such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanners, network analysis tools, identity platforms, firewalls, and security testing frameworks.

  • Experience guiding learners through portfolio projects or capstones.

Professional & Personal Qualities

  • Current industry-recognized cybersecurity certification(s), such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CySA+, PenTest+, CEH, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience and industry certifications may be considered.
  • 3+ years of professional cybersecurity experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to expanding access to technology careers for career-ready talent.
