WelbeHealth is a value-based healthcare organization that’s transforming the future of senior care by providing an all-inclusive care option to our most vulnerable senior population. We step in as the care provider and care planner that work to keep our participants within their communities, out of institutions, and cared for like family, all while receiving the healthcare and social services needed to thrive.

The Senior Director, Network Strategy will lead the development and execution of provider network strategy and contracting across WelbeHealth. The role combines strategic planning, operational leadership, and complex provider negotiations, with accountability for network adequacy, market expansion support, financial stewardship, and enterprise-wide collaboration. The Senior Director, Network Strategy will lead a team focused on network strategy and contracting, while partnering closely with Network Management, Operations, Finance, Analytics, Compliance, clinical leadership, and market teams. This role plays a key part in shaping how WelbeHealth builds provider relationships to support growth, participant access, and long-term value.

This role is different because the Senior Director, Network Strategy at WelbeHealth:

  • Combines strategic network leadership with hands-on provider contracting, providing the opportunity to shape how WelbeHealth builds, strengthens, and expands provider relationships while directly influencing network access, quality, and financial sustainability
  • Plays a critical role in WelbeHealth’s continued growth and market expansion, with a strong focus on California health system and provider relationships

We care about our team members. That’s why we offer:

  • Medical insurance coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision)
  • Work/life balance - We mean it! 17 days of personal time off (PTO), 12 holidays observed annually, and 6 sick days
  • 401K savings + match
  • Comprehensive compensation package including base pay and bonus
  • And additional benefits!

On the day-to-day, you will:

  • Develop and lead enterprise network strategies across existing and emerging markets, supporting market expansion efforts by designing strategies aligned to growth plans and local market dynamics
  • Assess and monitor network adequacy to ensure participants have timely access to high-quality providers, specialists, hospitals, and ancillary services, as well as identify network gaps, access barriers, and market-specific needs, developing strategies to address them
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive market conditions that may impact network development and strategy
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of network strategy and contracting professionals, including managers and directors, providing strategic guidance and operational support to regional and field-based team members
  • Foster strong collaboration across departments including Finance, Analytics, Operations, clinical leadership, Compliance, and growth teams
  • Lead outreach and complex negotiations with hospitals, health systems, large physician groups, and other strategic provider partners
  • Explore innovative contracting approaches tied to outcomes such as improved participant access, care coordination, medical record retrieval, quality performance, and operational responsiveness

Job requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in provider network strategy and managed care contracting
  • Must have experience leading negotiations with hospitals, health systems, and large provider organizations
  • Knowledge of network adequacy standards, provider operations, reimbursement methodologies, and value-based care models
  • Must have demonstrated success building provider networks across multiple markets or regions, with a focus on California
  • Must have experience within Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, PACE, or value-based care environments
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members
  • Strong leadership experience managing high-performing teams in a matrixed organization

If you’re a strategic network leader who is energized by building strong provider partnerships, navigating complex negotiations, and shaping networks that expand access to high-quality care, we’d love to hear from you!
