The job, in the employer's words

About Altruist

Altruist is transforming the multi-trillion dollar wealth management industry by building an AI platform for wealth professionals. We partner with financial advisors nationwide, empowering them to grow, optimize time and resources, and deliver superior outcomes for their clients.

We're looking for exceptional talent to help us achieve our mission of making financial advice better, more affordable, and accessible to all. If you're passionate about challenging the status quo and want to do the most important work of your life, we'd love to meet you!

But first, our values

Kindness - Kindness doesn’t just equal niceness. We listen to understand. We embrace, and encourage healthy debate and diverse perspectives. We approach conflict openly, honestly, and respectfully.

Brilliance - Humility is the skill we’re most proud of and possessing a growth mindset is always top of mind. We take ownership in everything we touch; regularly using our unique superpowers to reach a common goal as a team. We succeed and fail as one.

Grit - When challenges arise, we stay laser focused on achieving our mission and finding a way forward, even when it’s hard. We are nimble and maintain a sense of urgency, swiftly adapting to change and overcoming obstacles.

The opportunity

Altruist is experiencing an exceptional growth phase, and we’re excited to hire a Senior Corporate Actions Analyst to join our expanding Operations team. In this role you will own the full event lifecycle—from announcement through allocation and reconciliation—across equities, ETFs, mutual funds, and fixed income (with expansion into alternatives and listed options). This role is ideal for a growing leader with deep operational and technical knowledge who can lead modernization, automation, and control initiatives.

You’ll stabilize and document current workflows, enhance controls and efficiency, and partner cross-functionally to deliver a scalable, audit-ready operation. While people leadership experience is welcome, the emphasis is on subject matter expertise, process optimization, and hands-on ownership.

Your impact

  • Corporate Action Processing: Monitor, review, and process all mandatory and voluntary corporate actions—mergers, splits, rights issues, tender offers, warrants—from announcement through completion.
  • Income Events: Oversee dividends, interest, and related payments; ensure proper withholding, tax treatment, and cost-basis adjustments.
  • Event Lifecycle Management: Manage announcements, options, elections, allocations, entitlements, and reconciliations with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Client & Custodian Coordination: Communicate voluntary event details, collect instructions, and submit elections via custodians, DTCC PBS/CA Web/AIP, or proxy agents within deadlines.
  • Controls & Exception Management: Implement and monitor maker-checker controls, exception dashboards, KPIs, and audit-ready evidence.
  • Automation & Modernization: Partner with Product and Engineering to streamline workflows, UAT new builds, and drive straight-through processing (STP).
  • Risk Management: Identify, escalate, and resolve discrepancies; ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge Management: Build and maintain robust process documentation, playbooks, and standard operating procedures to support scalability and training.
  • Vendor & System Ownership: Manage key vendor and platform relationships (DTCC, proxy vendors, custodians), and contribute to platform enhancements (FIS, XSP/Phase3, AIP).

What you bring

  • Experience - 3+ years of experience working in brokerage, clearing, or custody operations focused on corporate actions, dividends, or income processing.
    • Strong working knowledge of DTCC PBS
    • Deep understanding of mandatory and voluntary event types, timelines, market standards, and tax/cost-basis implications.
  • Education - Ideally looking for a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Securities licenses - Series 99 required (or ability to obtain in 90 days); Series 7 preferred.
  • Ownership - The pride you put into every aspect of your work is unparalleled and undeniable
  • Technical Knowledge - Familiarity with SQL, Python or other coding language.  Experience with practical usage of AI in daily functions.
  • Superb communication - Intentional dialogue is a superpower. You listen as well as you share your perspective with others.
  • Resilience - We’re inspired by your unwavering determination to achieve success, no matter the adversity you face along the way.
  • Assurance - Your confidence is brilliant, yet ego-less. You possess a strong knowledge base, the ability to discover the unknown, and are open to differing perspectives.
  • Creative problem solving - Identifying the problem is simply not enough. You’re instinctually creative with your approach in finding solutions to roadblocks.
  • Bonus points if you bring
    • Hands-on experience with FIS and XSP (Phase3/XSP CA platform) strongly preferred
    • Experience with alternatives or OCC option adjustments a plus..
Dallas, TX salary range
$79,000—$107,000 USD

At Altruist, we are committed to providing fair, equitable, and competitive compensation by leveraging market data to inform our pay bands. By evaluating compensation on a regular basis, we are able to reward high performance and ensure all employees have opportunities for growth.

At Altruist we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role, but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
