The job, in the employer's words
AlphaGov delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.
We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, AlphaGov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. We build ready teams for live pursuits — not speculative staffing banks.
What you'll do:
- Lead or co-lead public-sector analytics engagements — forecasting, performance measurement, data quality, and dashboard/implementation support
- Frame analytic questions with domain experts and translate findings for executives and elected/appointed stakeholders
- Build reproducible analyses on administrative and public datasets; document methods and limits
- Advise on data governance, quality controls, privacy constraints, and sustainable handoff to agency staff
- Produce decision-ready products for cities, counties, state agencies, transit/utility authorities, and school systems
- Coordinate with evaluation, LMI/workforce, and operations SMEs when scopes overlap
- Contribute technical write-ups, scopes, and proposal content when naming is authorized
- Avoid staff-augmentation coding, pure academic research, or product SaaS sales framing
