The job, in the employer's words

About KiwiCo:

KiwiCo is an innovative eCommerce company dedicated to sparking creativity and curiosity in kids (and kids at heart!). Through both online and offline materials, we provide fun and engaging ways for kids to explore, create, and learn. Our primary offering is a subscription service where we deliver "whoa awesome," hands-on projects to kids. We also manage an eCommerce storefront and a content platform to inspire and educate. We take great pride and ownership in the products we build and in the community of parents and kids we serve.

Our office is located in Mountain View, CA within walking distance to the Caltrain station. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with 3-4 office days per week (depending on your team) and the remainder of the week working remotely.

About the Job:

We are looking for a People Operations Coordinator who is passionate about supporting our employees in our day-to-day HR operations, maintaining an internal culture our employees love and partnering with hiring teams to bring top talent to our team! We're looking for a self-motivated, resourceful, and reliable doer who loves order and organization. You are adept to finding solutions and accommodating diverse needs and responsibilities.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support both Talent and People Operations
  • Schedule and manage candidate virtual and on-site interviews
  • Manage certain roles outlined by Head of People Ops
  • Help with administrative tasks in Talent: conducting reference check calls if asked to help, sending out surveys, support with job board maintenance
  • Support onboarding
  • Maintain records of employee related data (HRIS) and ensure requirements and compliance is being met
  • Support with various culture and office related tasks

Required Qualifications:

We seek team players with an infectious positive energy, great initiative, and a get-it-done attitude. Candidates must thrive in ambiguity and love a rapid pace. You must have a strong desire to learn and improve. Excellent organizational, communications, and multi-tasking skills are musts. Required skills and qualifications include:

    • Passionate about customers. You are a strong, thoughtful communicator with the ability to interface well with many different personalities, and have effective relationship building skills.
    • Hands-on, “get things done” mentality. You are eager to learn and grow with our People Ops team. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while still paying attention to details and executing flawlessly.
    • Resourceful. You see a project from idea stage through successful completion - and do whatever it takes to make it a success. You are an innovative thinker and can solve problems creatively.
    • Detail-oriented. We move quickly, but we bring care and thoughtfulness to everything we do. We care deeply about the details.
    • Collaborative. Ability to work well within cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization. A positive force on the team who can bring KiwiCo’s employee experience to the next level.
    • Impeccable discretion. You are able to act in an ethical manner and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information that impacts employees and the business.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ years experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and HR databases - preferably with Greenhouse and Rippling
  • Experience with (phone and in-person) interviews, candidate screening and evaluation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Phenomenal interpersonal skills; Excels at developing relationships across groups and functions at all levels of the organization including senior leadership
  • You have excellent project leadership skills and can keep track of deadlines, deliverables, and follow-ups from meetings
  • Have an aptitude for learning new office applications quickly and efficiently
  • You are able to work with evolving systems and structures, demonstrating the flexibility to adapt to changing environments and regulations
  • You are willing to learn and are open to taking direction and feedback

The starting pay range for this position is between $60,000 to $70,000. However, the final base salary offered may differ based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and business needs.

In addition to base pay, KiwiCo offers a comprehensive total rewards package, which may include opportunities for an annual bonus, stock options, and a variety of benefits related to health, financial security, and well-being. Specific details about these benefits will be shared if an offer of employment is extended.

If hired, the position is “at-will” and the Company reserves the right to modify any component, plan, or program of the total rewards package at any time, for any reason.

If you’re passionate about delivering innovative, delightful, and enriching products and experiences for kids, we’d love to hear from you!
