ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the technical design, development, testing, and implementation of Java-based custom software solutions.
- Develop and enhance Java-based RESTful web services in alignment with established technical designs and architectural standards.
- Review functional specifications and collaborate with business analysts and technical teams to translate business requirements into technical design components.
- Provide effort estimates for new functionality, enhancements, and change requests to support project planning and delivery.
- Create and maintain unit tests to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of developed software components.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
- Collaborate with development team members to evaluate impacts across the software development lifecycle and recommend technical improvements.
- Provide regular updates on task progress and proactively identify and escalate technical risks, dependencies, and issues.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience in software development, including hands-on Java application development.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience developing applications using Java and JavaScript.
- 2+ years of experience with Angular and modern web application development practices.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful web services and working with application integration patterns.
- 2+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational database technologies.
- 2+ years of experience developing and supporting applications in Linux-based environments.
- Understanding of application design principles, software architecture, and application performance considerations.
- Experience with unit testing, code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting software applications.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective contributor within Agile development teams and participate in technical and architecture discussions.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, time-management, analytical, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust clearance.
- Candidates must have lived in the United States for at least 3 of the past 5 years.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting CMS, federal government, or healthcare systems.
- Experience with Spring Framework, Maven or Gradle, XML/JSON processing, and NoSQL technologies such as MarkLogic.
- Experience with DevOps-aligned development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated build and deployment tools.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
