The job, in the employer's words

About Concentric Innovation: Concentric Innovation (“Concentric”) is an investment management firm specializing in customized direct indexing and integrated portfolio solutions for independent RIAs, family offices, and institutional investors. Founded in 2001 and based in San Francisco, the firm has spent over two decades refining its proprietary technology to deliver tax-efficient investment outcomes and specializes in developing investment solutions at scale for its clients. Managing $13+ billion in assets, Concentric's mission is to empower advisors with precision-driven solutions that streamline operations, optimize investment objectives, and enhance client experiences. Since 2022, Concentric has been an affiliate of Pathstone Family Office, LLC, fueling collaboration with a like-minded wealth management partner, expanding its reach and capabilities for a new generation of investors.

Operating at the intersection of quantitative investing, technology innovation, and client-first service, Concentric offers an innovative environment where talented professionals can help shape the next generation of investment management infrastructure.

Position Summary: The Investment Analyst plays a key role on our investment team, owning day-to-day portfolio rebalancing across client accounts and, as they grow in the role, contributing directly to the firm's codebase and tools that drive our investment process. This is a hands-on opportunity at the intersection of portfolio management, technology, and client operations, making it an ideal role for someone eager to learn about systematic investment processes and make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily and periodic portfolio rebalancing across client accounts.
  • Monitor rebalancing and trading activity, investigate exceptions, and partner with team members to resolve issues efficiently and accurately.
  • Partner closely with trading, operations, and client services teams to resolve account-level issues, onboard new accounts, and address client-related requests.
  • Develop a strong understanding of our investment process and, over time, contribute to the Python codebase that powers rebalancing, trade generation, and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance workflows by proposing and implementing improvements.
  • Assist with maintaining documentation and procedures as the investment process evolves.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Finance, or Economics is required.
  • 0 – 3 years of experience. Previous experience in a finance role is a plus but not required. We welcome individuals with strong analytical skills and a desire to learn about the investment industry.
  • Proficient in Excel, with the ability to efficiently analyze and work with large datasets while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Comfortable learning and leveraging technology, with an interest in developing skills in Python and other tools that support our investment process.
  • Interest in financial markets and investment concepts. Prior knowledge is helpful but not required; curiosity and a willingness to learn are most important.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and comfortable owning a repeatable, high-stakes daily process.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, identify inconsistencies, and investigate issues to uncover root causes.
  • Genuinely curious with a desire to understand how things work, challenge existing processes, and continuously seek opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Interest in learning how to use and optimize AI for day-to-day workflows in a creative manner.

Our talented people are our greatest asset and therefore we offer a competitive, and flexible benefits program that helps meet the needs of our team members and their families.
