The job, in the employer's words

Head of Sales & Distribution – WealthTech & Investment Technology | Remote

Company: Artha
Position Type: Full-Time, Remote
Industry: WealthTech / Investment Technology
Function: Sales, Distribution & Go-to-Market Leadership

About Artha

At Pavago, one of our clients, Artha, is hiring a Head of Sales & Distribution to build and lead its commercial strategy across RIAs, family offices, and institutional investors.

Artha is a portfolio intelligence platform built for financial advisors, wealth managers, family offices, and institutional investors. Its technology helps investment professionals understand how portfolios may behave as market conditions change, identify potential risks and their underlying drivers, and evaluate portfolio decisions through scenario analysis and optimization.

Artha is already live in market, with paying customers, institutional use, and integrations across the wealth-management ecosystem. The platform was built by a team with decades of experience across investment management, portfolio construction, ETFs, financial technology, product, and engineering.

The product has been built. The next chapter is about building distribution around it.

The Opportunity

This is a zero-to-one commercial leadership role for someone who has built before—not someone looking simply to manage an established sales organization.

You won’t inherit a mature inbound funnel, SDR organization, or finished sales playbook. Instead, you’ll work directly with Artha’s founders and product leadership to determine how the platform goes to market, sharpen the commercial story, identify scalable channels, and personally turn opportunities into customers.

Initially, this will be a highly hands-on role. You’ll:

  • Open doors and leverage your existing network
  • Personally prospect and generate pipeline
  • Run discovery and product conversations
  • Develop strategic relationships
  • Test positioning and messaging
  • Build direct and partnership-driven distribution channels
  • Manage opportunities through the sales cycle
  • Personally close business

What you learn from the market will directly influence Artha’s positioning, product roadmap, partnerships, and broader go-to-market strategy.

As the commercial motion becomes repeatable, you’ll have the opportunity to build the organization around it.

What You’ll Own

Sales & Distribution Strategy

  • Build and execute Artha’s sales and distribution strategy across:
    • Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs)
    • Family offices
    • Institutional investors
  • Determine the customer segments and use cases with the strongest commercial potential
  • Identify the messages and channels generating the strongest market signal
  • Develop a repeatable commercial model capable of scaling beyond founder-led selling
  • Help define Artha’s ideal customer profile and go-to-market priorities

Hands-On Sales & Pipeline Generation

  • Personally source new opportunities and open doors
  • Leverage and expand relationships across the wealth-management and investment ecosystem
  • Conduct prospecting and outbound business development
  • Run discovery conversations
  • Deliver compelling product and commercial presentations
  • Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle
  • Navigate objections and complex stakeholder conversations
  • Build and manage qualified pipeline
  • Personally negotiate and close meaningful business

This is a leadership role, but you will be selling.

Strategic Distribution & Partnerships

  • Develop both direct-sales and partnership-driven distribution
  • Build strategic relationships with:
    • Wealth platforms
    • Custodians
    • Technology providers
    • Asset managers
    • Other ecosystem partners
  • Identify partnerships capable of expanding Artha’s market reach
  • Evaluate strategic distribution opportunities based on commercial potential
  • Develop relationships into scalable distribution channels

Positioning & Commercial Narrative

  • Own the commercial narrative alongside Product, Investments, and Marketing
  • Translate sophisticated investment technology into a clear and compelling commercial story
  • Help develop and continuously refine:
    • Positioning
    • Sales collateral
    • Outbound messaging
    • Product demonstrations
    • Objection handling
    • Customer use cases
  • Use real market conversations to sharpen Artha’s messaging
  • Ensure the sales narrative resonates with sophisticated investment professionals

Sales Operations & Commercial Infrastructure

  • Establish a disciplined sales process from the ground up
  • Build CRM structure and pipeline-management standards
  • Define qualification criteria and sales stages
  • Establish KPIs and commercial reporting
  • Develop forecasting processes
  • Create a consistent sales operating cadence
  • Maintain visibility into pipeline quality, progression, and revenue opportunities
  • Build the commercial infrastructure required to support future scale

Market & Product Feedback

  • Bring structured customer and prospect feedback into Product
  • Identify recurring customer needs, objections, and use cases
  • Help Product understand where the strongest commercial demand exists
  • Translate market feedback into actionable insights
  • Work directly with founders, investment professionals, product leaders, and engineers
  • Help inform product priorities based on commercial opportunities

Commercial Leadership

  • Represent Artha at industry events, conferences, and strategic meetings
  • Establish credibility with senior stakeholders across wealth management and investment technology
  • Develop Artha’s commercial presence in the market
  • As repeatability is established, build and lead the broader commercial organization
  • Create the foundation, processes, and playbook future sales and distribution hires can scale

Requirements

  • Meaningful experience selling WealthTech, investment technology, portfolio solutions, asset-management solutions, or related financial products
  • Deep familiarity with the wealth-management and investment ecosystem
  • Established relationships across RIAs, family offices, and/or institutional investors
  • Proven track record of personally generating pipeline and closing meaningful business
  • Experience building or helping build a zero-to-one commercial motion
  • Experience developing sales strategy where a mature playbook or inbound engine did not already exist
  • Experience with both:
    • Direct sales
    • Strategic distribution partnerships
  • Ability to shape positioning, messaging, collateral, and sales processes based on market feedback
  • Ability to translate sophisticated investment products and technology into a simple, compelling commercial narrative
  • Comfortable selling directly to sophisticated investment professionals and decision-makers
  • Strong pipeline management and commercial discipline
  • Comfortable working directly with founders, investment professionals, product leaders, and engineers
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating in ambiguity
  • Willingness to remain highly hands-on in prospecting, discovery, relationship development, and closing

Especially Valuable Experience

Experience with any of the following is particularly valuable:

  • Portfolio construction
  • Model portfolios
  • TAMPs
  • Custodial platforms
  • Investment analytics
  • Advisor technology
  • Wealth-management platforms
  • Asset-management solutions
  • Institutional investment technology
  • Financial advisor technology ecosystems

What Makes You a Strong Fit

You’ll likely thrive in this role if you:

  • Have built commercial motions before, rather than only managed established sales teams
  • Have a meaningful network within wealth management and investment technology
  • Know how to create pipeline without relying on a mature inbound engine
  • Can personally open doors and convert relationships into commercial opportunities
  • Are equally comfortable discussing sophisticated investment concepts and closing business
  • Can identify patterns across early customer conversations and turn them into a repeatable sales strategy
  • Understand both direct selling and strategic distribution
  • Want significant influence over positioning, customer strategy, partnerships, and product direction
  • Are comfortable working closely with founders in an early-stage environment
  • Can move between high-level commercial strategy and hands-on execution
  • Are entrepreneurial, analytical, and commercially minded
  • Want to build the sales organization—not simply inherit one

What a Typical Day Looks Like

Your day could include prospecting into target RIAs or family offices, leveraging your network to open a conversation with an institutional investor, running discovery with a potential customer, or presenting Artha’s portfolio intelligence platform to investment professionals.

You may then work with Product and Investments to refine positioning based on what you’re hearing in the market, review the pipeline and forecast, develop a strategic distribution relationship with a wealth platform or custodian, and prepare for an industry meeting or conference.

Early on, much of your time will be spent directly in the market. As patterns emerge, you’ll turn those learnings into a repeatable commercial process and scalable distribution model.

In short: you’ll build Artha’s commercial engine while personally proving how it works.

What Success Looks Like

Your first priority will be learning—Artha, its customers, the market, and why prospects engage or don’t.

From there, success means:

  • Sharpening Artha’s ideal customer profile and commercial narrative
  • Materially increasing qualified market conversations
  • Establishing a disciplined and measurable sales process
  • Determining which segments, channels, messages, and use cases show the strongest commercial signal
  • Building qualified pipeline
  • Converting pipeline into revenue
  • Developing meaningful strategic distribution relationships
  • Creating a repeatable distribution model
  • Reducing dependence on individual relationships and founder-led selling
  • Building the commercial foundation required for future scale

Key Metrics for Success

  • Qualified market conversations generated
  • Qualified pipeline created
  • Pipeline-to-revenue conversion
  • New customers closed
  • Revenue generated
  • Sales-cycle progression and velocity
  • Strategic distribution relationships established
  • Direct-sales channel performance
  • Partner-driven pipeline and opportunities
  • CRM and forecasting discipline
  • Identification of repeatable customer segments and use cases
  • Commercial messaging effectiveness
  • Development of a scalable sales and distribution model

Why Artha, Why Now

Artha isn’t asking you to sell an idea that still needs to be built.

The technology is live. The investment expertise is established. There are real customers, institutional use, and industry integrations. The platform addresses an everyday challenge for investment professionals: understanding what changing markets could mean for their portfolios.

What hasn’t been built yet is the commercial engine capable of taking Artha to a much larger market.

That’s the opportunity.

You’ll join early enough to have genuine influence over positioning, customer strategy, partnerships, product, and the future commercial organization, while working with an established platform and experienced team.

For someone who has spent years in wealth management or investment technology thinking, “I know how I’d build this if I had the opportunity,” this role provides that opportunity.
