We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. AlphaGov is seeking a Classification & Compensation Analyst to support an active municipal classification and compensation study (City of Myrtle Beach, SC — proposal due early October 2026).
What you'll do:
- Review and refine job descriptions for classification accuracy and consistency
- Administer salary surveys and analyze market data against peer sets
- Perform internal-equity and pay-compression analysis
- Draft classification recommendations and supporting analytical tables
- Contribute analyst qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when permissioned

Requirements
Required:
- Classification and compensation analysis experience
- Salary-survey methods experience
- HR data analysis skills
- Comfortable as a 1099 / project-based collaborator with travel as needed for client on-sites
Nice to have:
- Public-sector compensation study experience
- Job evaluation methodology (point factor, market pricing, or comparable)
- South Carolina local-government familiarity
