EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

At Maven, we build what communities depend on — power, water, gas, and other essential systems that keep communities connected and thriving. Our success is driven by our people: motivated professionals who bring expertise, collaboration, and commitment to every project.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Junior Project Manager to play a key role in delivering an exciting portfolio of capital projects.

This position will be responsible for the successful completion of low to medium risk infrastructure or other construction projects by leading cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams through project activities so that projects are successfully completed safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and report on infrastructure and other construction project activities by consistently monitoring project benefits, resources and status and creating documents such as project plans, action logs, communication plans, status reports and post implementation reviews so that the project is implemented as planned.
  • Develop project plans and risk management plans for low to medium risk infrastructure or other construction projects with a capital cost that is generally up to $20 million for effective management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage multiple activities effectively such as quality assurance, engineering, First Nations and stakeholder engagement, communication, regulatory approvals, procurement, planning and controls, construction management, pre-commissioning, employee relations, and safety by using project management principles in monitoring progress and establishing standards for implementation to keep the project within allotted time and budget.
  • Complete project management activities including scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders including customers, engineers and field crews through regular communication using excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills enabling timely progression of projects.

Requirements

  • A minimum five (5) years of project management experience or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (is an asset), Business, Economics, or related discipline
  • Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation, preferred
  • Demonstrated interest in project management and infrastructure project delivery.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Understanding of project controls, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or other project management tools is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites within British Columbia as required.
