The job, in the employer's words

Notre environnement technique

  • Backend
  • Java, GoLang
  • Frontend
  • Vue.js, JavaScript, HTML/CSS
  • Données
  • MySQL
  • Infrastructure
  • AWS, Terraform, Linux

_______________________________________________________________________________________

At Progression, we build SaaS software for service businesses. We're a fun-loving bunch: we take the product seriously, just not ourselves. We're looking for someone who wants to get involved for real, not be just another number in a backlog.

If you're passionate about programming (and board games), you enjoy teamwork and helping people, change doesn't scare you, and you're also looking for a long-term relationship with your employer, then I think we should talk.

The role

As a senior dev on our team, you're the technical anchor. It plays out on two fronts.

You guide

You take on the tech lead role. When a story comes in, you don't just execute it blindly. You understand the requirement, push back if it doesn't hold up, and raise your hand early when you see a blocker coming.

  • Define the targets to hit and the architecture rules
  • Understand and challenge story requirements
  • Advise the team on technology best practices
  • Review code and test features built by your peers
  • Flag technical blockers before they become emergencies

You build

You design robust solutions and you code them. You write automated tests because you know what it costs not to have them. And you propose innovative approaches when they solve a real problem, not just for the sake of novelty.

  • Design and deliver end-to-end technical solutions
  • Write automated tests, not just code that works on your machine
  • Use AI tools every day, because a senior dev in 2026 works with them, not around them

Here, what we code, we also deploy. You don't need to be an infrastructure or security expert to apply, since we have people for that. But if you like getting your hands into a deployment pipeline, or you think about "access" and "customer data" from the design stage, you'll feel right at home.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years in software development
  • Hands-on experience building SaaS applications
  • Real experience with AWS and Terraform
  • Experience with, and enthusiasm for, automated testing
  • College diploma in computer science (minimum); university degree preferred

Nice to have

  • DevOps experience: CI/CD pipelines, deployments, monitoring
  • Interest or experience in application security (access management, OWASP)
  • Experience developing AI solutions

Our tech stack

BackendJava, GoLangFrontendVue.js, JavaScript, HTML/CSSDataMySQLInfrastructureAWS, Terraform, Linux

What we offer in return

For your three-month probation period, you work 37.5 hours a week. If all goes well, you move up to the next level: 32 hours, still paid for 37.5.

You set your own schedule (four days, or five shorter ones), and you work remotely or from the office, whichever you prefer. You'll still need to come to our Trois-Rivières office sometimes for team activities, since that's where we get together in person.

  • 4-day week, flexible hours and remote work
  • Competitive salary and group insurance plan
  • DPSP (Deferred Profit Sharing Plan), so we help you save for retirement
  • 3 weeks of vacation
  • Personal learning budget, remote-work budget and recreational activities budget
  • Quality computer and office equipment
  • Social and sports activities, plus free coffee and pastries at the office

Interested?

If you want to work for an employer that does things differently, and you're ready to commit to a great working relationship with us, send us your résumé.
