About the Client
Our customer is a leading financial institution with a strong focus on technology, innovation, and high-performance financial solutions. The technology team works on complex distributed systems and modern cloud architectures, providing an environment where engineers can work with cutting-edge technologies while solving challenging problems in the financial services industry.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and enhance backend applications using Java, focusing on performance, scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
- Build and maintain microservices with Quarkus, contributing to modern cloud-native architectures.
- Develop and maintain frontend solutions using Angular, working across the application stack when required.
- Design and implement event-driven solutions using AWS services such as SQS, SNS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
- Work with distributed architectures and contribute to building reliable and resilient systems.
- Implement and evolve observability practices, including logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical decision-making, code reviews, and initiatives focused on engineering quality.
- Contribute to automation, continuous improvement, and engineering productivity.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools, such as Cursor or developer copilots, to improve development productivity and delivery quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
What You Bring
- Experience in software engineering, with a strong backend development focus.
- Strong proficiency in Java, with hands-on experience developing production-grade applications.
- Solid experience with Quarkus and Angular.
- Mandatory hands-on experience with AWS, particularly SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, Lambda, and API Gateway.
- Experience designing and developing microservices and distributed architectures.
- Understanding of event-driven architecture and cloud-based application development.
- Experience with observability practices, including metrics, logging, and tracing.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Practical experience using AI-powered engineering tools, such as Cursor or developer copilots.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering and cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with reactive programming, particularly Mutiny or Project Reactor.
- Previous experience working with financial markets, investment banking, or financial systems.
- Experience building highly scalable and resilient applications in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with modern AI-assisted software development practices and tools.
